Torque Is Based On Pressure
Coolant pressure required to operate Titespot® Angle Heads ranges from 200 psi to
2000 psi depending upon the "load" of the application. Call our Application

Under test conditions, the ELTOOL ball piston motor develops 1.9 inch pounds of torque
per each 100 psi of coolant pressure. Many things affect actual performance including
viscosity of the coolant and condition of the motor itself. The following chart shows
speed (rpm) at various coolant pressures under various load conditions.
To calculate theoretical horsepower:
(Pressure in psi x .019) x (Flow in gpm x 900)

Speed Is Based On Flow
At approximately 70% volumetric efficiency the .18 cu. in/rev
ball piston motor will rotate at about 900 rpm's per
gpm flow. (231 x .7/.18)
