What head “style” should I choose?
We offer two different types of head styles. “Drilling” and “Milling” heads.
Milling heads incorporate two preloaded Class 7 angular contact bearings on the front of the spindle for improved performance and durability. Milling heads are much "stiffer" in side load applications. They should always be selected for milling applications and most drilling applications if space considerations permit.
Drilling heads are more compact, and will often fit when a milling head won't. Drilling heads are suitable for many “light duty” milling applications if space limitations are an issue.
